Before meeting Kris, Caitlyn had experienced a period of six years during which she had little inclination to work. At that time, Kris played the role of a Beverly Hills housewife. However, she also took charge of Caitlyn’s business affairs, even helping the family venture into infomercials. Caitlyn admitted that, back then, neither of them could have predicted the future that awaited them. She said, “I had no idea what the future held for us. I don’t think even she did.”

The couple, who share two daughters, Kendall, 27, and Kylie, 26, eventually announced their separation in 2013, after 22 years of marriage. Caitlyn’s public revelation of her transgender identity came two years later.

In a recent conversation with ITV’s This Morning, Caitlyn disclosed that she and Kris no longer communicate. She characterized their current dynamic as distant, noting that it’s somewhat disheartening given the many shared experiences over the years.
Caitlyn’s candid discussion with The Times coincides with the forthcoming release of “House of Kardashian,” a three-part documentary set to premiere in the U.K. on Sky Documentaries and the streaming service Now.
